First, make the syrup by heating together two parts sugar to one part water, and several handfuls of mint leaves. For liquor, opt for bourbon or brandy. Combine in a julep glass or double old-fashioned glass 3 oz. bourbon, ¾ oz. rich mint syrup, 1 bunch of mint, and ice. Top with more mint, and serve with a straw to avoid the mint forest floating at the top of the glass.
This set features a base, straining lid, and cap. The cap also works as a measured jigger for up to 1 ¾ oz. Shaker measures 6 ¼" tall and 3" in diameter. Imprinting available. Replacement caps are sold separately.
